Friends,
It gives immense pleasure to welcome you all to the 4th
international conference of Indian Society for Theatre Research (ISTR)
from January 24th to 26th 2008 at Bangalore. On behalf of the
organizing committee and Indian Society for Theatre Research I thank you
all for sending abstracts and your interest in participating in the
conference. The following information on the conference will be helpful
for you to plan your trip and to reach the venue comfortably.
The conference is organized by the Department of Performing
Arts, Bangalore University and the venue of the conference will be
Bangalore University campus. Campus is known as Jnana Bharathi campus
located on the Bangalore –Mysore highway. Prepaid taxi charge
from airport to Bangalore University campus is Rs.450/- and from
Railway station/ Bus station is Rs. 150/-. Auto rickshaws with metre
are also available from above places.
Conference office will be functioning round the clock
from January 23rd morning at the Department of Performing Arts, Sneha
Bhavan, Bangalore University, Jnanabharathi campus, Bangalore 560056.

You are requested to come directly to the conference
reception office, from where the organisers will take you to the guest
house. Since there are constraints for accommodation space we regret to
inform our inability to provide a room with single occupancy.
If you are not comfortable with the shared accommodation
you may inform us in advance to arrange separate accommodation in
nearby hotel/club for which you have to bear the expenses. Conference
organisers would be providing transport facility from the hotels.
Participants who couldn’t register can do their
registration at the conference office from January 23rd afternoon
onwards with late fee.
During the end of January Bangalore climate will be
slightly cool. You are advised to keep warm clothes.
